It’s not hard to be anything but inspired by North Norfolk, the dramatic skies, wonderful wildlife, and it’s ever changing coastline challenge a Landscape & Wildlife photographer to record the seasons, and capture wildlife in it’s natural habitat. My interest in photography developed from my love of birdwatching, nature and travel, photographs taken in Europe, India, Australia, Africa, Trinidad and Israel added to the thousands of images showcasing Norfolk’s diversity are all part of my image library.
In 1999 we moved from Northamptonshire, where I worked in the forestry industry, to Brancaster in Norfolk, two years later Deanee, my wife was seriously ill, and I retrained as a picture framer. I have spent the last 14 years building my photography portfolio and establishing my Picture Framing business.
I am a self taught photographer who has a passion for the natural world and all it has to offer. Norfolk experiences some of the most spectacular Sunrises and Sunsets, from June to September it is even possible to see both from the same beach. I have always found that early mornings and evenings offer the best light for Coastal photography, during the summer months I find it is too bright during the day. In winter a clear, cold, sunny day adds a crispness to the colours, the sun stays low over the landscape creating shadows and reflections. A spring tide will cover areas of the marshland normally exposed. Equally a Full Moon over the marshes with clear skies creates an atmosphere in a low light.
I hope you enjoy looking through the Gallery of my work, if you would like to see more, my annual Exhibition will give you an opportunity to view my images in print, on large format aluminium and canvas. I offer camera and field craft one to one Tuition, my methodology KEEP IT SIMPLE. project, developing this area to offer an opportunity to photograph birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.
